So, two episodes ago we have St. Stefan crying and guilt-tripping DE for not ‘rescuing’ him from three months of drowning and in this episode we have Damon keeping a secret for 50+ years about FIVE YEARS OF HIDEOUS, DAILY TORTURE because he didn’t want to give his brother the sads about it and we’re still supposed to see Stefan as a hero.
Damon suffers from years of torture but the thing that ultimately makes him switch off his humanity is the fact that he has to ‘betray’ his friend while the thing that nearly pushed Stefan to switch it off was his own personal suffering and we’re still supposed to think that Stefan is the good, compassionate brother.
I don’t see Stefan as anything but a pathetic, hypocritical, shallow, self-centered, self-absorbed, smug, judgmental little tool who makes me feel like throwing something at my TV when I have to watch his whiny ass.
